Connect Notion AI to Slack
What Notion AI and Slack document about their connection: what it does, what it takes to turn it on, what it costs and the data that passes from one to the other. Each fact with its source at the vendor and its date.
What the connection does
- What it does. The connection brings Slack conversations into Notion AI: searching messages, summarizing channels, answers drawn from past discussions, and actions by the Notion agent in Slack such as posting a message or replying in a thread (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
- The direction. In both directions.
- The mode. Through an integration offered by the vendor.
What it takes to turn it on
- The editions or licenses required. Available with Notion's Business and Enterprise plans (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
- What it costs on top, or how it is billed. Not documented by the vendor.
- Who turns it on. The connection is started from Notion, in the Notion AI settings; an installation started from Slack does not work (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
- The prerequisites. One must be an owner of the Slack workspace and an owner of the Notion workspace (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
The data that flows
- What passes. Slack content is stored as vector representations (embeddings) in vector databases such as Turbopuffer (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
- Whether the source tool's permissions are respected. For third-party content, Notion AI fetches content only according to the permissions mapping between Slack and Notion users (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
- Where the data is processed. Not documented by the vendor.
- Training. Notion states that it does not process customer data to train its models and does not allow its subprocessors to do so (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
- Retention. On disconnection, Slack content immediately becomes unsearchable and the Slack data used by Notion AI is deleted within one day of the request (according to Notion's documentation, read on 10/16/2026).
With Ojja
Ojja tells you whether you already pay for both tools, whether the connection is turned on in your company, who uses it, and the usage before and after: it is the “Connect” lever of what your tools can already do.
What Ojja never does
- Ojja does not advise you to choose a vendor: it records what each one documents.
- Ojja does not say whether a use is permitted: it gives the facts, and the points to review with your counsel.
Ojja does not provide legal advice: it records and documents; how the law applies to your situation is for your counsel to determine.
