What do paid, enabled and used mean?

In two lines #

Three statuses read for each AI feature. The three statuses are independent and are never merged. A feature can be paid for without being enabled, enabled without being used, used without having been decided.

The three statuses

  • Paid: at least one seat or subscription that includes it is billed to the company.
  • Enabled: the feature is available to at least one user, through an administrator setting or a vendor default.
  • Used: at least one user has used it over the last twenty-eight days, according to the vendor's aggregated usage reports.

The steps #

  1. Open “The register”: the “Status” column carries “paid”, “enabled”, “used”.
  2. Check the “Features” layer: the counters at the top say how many features are in place, paid, enabled, used.
  3. “usage not read”: the vendor does not expose usage for this feature, or the reading has not carried it yet.
  4. Open the fact sheet of a line (“Open”, at the end of the line): the “In your company” block repeats its statuses.

On the Arvenne example #

On the Arvenne example, ChatGPT is enabled and used without being paid for by the company: it was connected by employees.

What Ojja does not do #

Usage is read per tool, never per person, and is never reported for a group of fewer than ten people.

The method #

The three statuses of a feature.
